New for 2019: Start Ups

If you are involved in a European space start-up, then our start-up sessions are for you!

Start-up organisations are pivotal to the space industry: since the early 2000s, entrepreneurs and investors have brought disruption to the approach of space system manufacturing, launch and on-orbit data collection, with many of the prominent names in the industry today boasting a relatively short (but largely successful) history. Being a small and new fish in the big pond that is the space industry, it can be hard become visible among the many large organisations and get into business. 27% of all start-ups have mentioned that their main challenge when entering the industry is customer acquisition.

Day 1: Join the Discussion

Space Academies are two-day events for European space-tech entrepreneurs to accelerate their business. Prominent experts will cover topics such as: investment readiness, Crowdfunding, hot trends in artificial intelligence and robotics, business models, European funding for young SMEs and the European Space ecosystem.

All entrepreneurs are welcome to join the Space Academy workshops and get coached in small groups during the first day on six great topics by prominent experts. In addition to all applicants who can attend both days and get ample chances for broad networking, 10 selected companies will be entitled to receive certain additional, individual high-level services for free (including contact and advice with experts in the months prior to the Space Academy)!

On Monday 18 November, the Space Academy will be held in the BITZ, Fahrenheitsr.1 in Bremen. Find out how to apply here.

Day 2: Start-up Sessions at Space Tech Expo Europe Conference

On Tuesday 19 November, as part of the free-to-attend three track conference, the Technology stage at Space Tech Expo Europe will be dedicated to up-and-coming start-ups from across Europe with the session 'Enhancing Greater Investment in the European Space Industry' with topics including:

- How to establish a sustainable business in such an expensive industry
- How to create a seamless integration of New Space organisations into conventional space organisations
- Why do many companies struggle to get funding and how can this be prevented? Are cross-industry partnerships the answer?
- What is the promise of New Space? Will it disrupt or complement the ’conventional’ space ecosystem?

How can I take part?

In collaboration with Aviaspace, Space Tech Expo Europe will be providing a shark tank session for European space start-ups, to offer them the opportunity to showcase their ideas and innovations to venture capitalists and venture arms of prime organisations.

For your opportunity to take part please submit an overview of your organisation, of your product and/or services and your business plan HERE by August 31 2019.
