Space Tech Expo Europe will be presenting a free 90-minute Tutorial on Space Electronics on the morning of Wednesday 25th of October.

The Tutorial is suitable for satellite/spacecraft avionics design engineers, project/program managers, procurement, QA and testing staff.

What you will learn:

1. Space Electronics: the journey from block diagram to spacecraft launch

2. How to reduce the size, cost, power consumption and mass of satellite transponders

3. How to use and select COTS parts to enable low-cost missions

4. FPGA Technologies for Space Applications

5. CMOS Scaling and Radiation Hardness by Design

6. Power Architecture of a satellite payload

7. How to selected an isolated DC-DC and switching/linear POLs

8. How to power a 1V, 50A space-grade FPGA

The Tutorial on Space Electronics will be taught by Dr. Rajan Bedi, the CEO of Spacechips Ltd.

Spacechips provides Space-Electronics design consultancy services to manufacturers of satellites and spacecraft around the world. In 2016, the company won High-Reliability Product of the Year for its novel satellite transponder which it is currently bring to market. Spacechips has also been shortlisted for Company of the Year and International Business of the Year.

Prior to founding Spacechips, Rajan headed the Mixed-Signal Design Group at Airbus Defence & Space in the UK for twelve years. Rajan and his former colleagues led the development of the Space Electronics for the Alphasat telecommunication satellite as well as the SES-12/14, NovaSAR, EDRS and Sentinel-1 missions.

Spacechips also offers training courses and webinars on Space Electronics allowing you to make an independent and informed choice when selecting FPGAs, ADCs/DACs, power regulators and COTS components. The training is offered around the world, compares competing parts

from different suppliers and includes classroom demonstrations of EDA software and test equipment. The next three-day European courses will take place in Toulouse this October and Munich and Harwell this November. The three-day training programme can be viewed at: http://www.courses-for-rocket-scientists.com/Three-Day-Programme.pdf

Rajan is the author of, Out-of-this-World Design, a blog on Space Electronics which is currently being read by 12,000 people around the world each month and has been viewed over 1.5 million times.
